Welcome to Mountains of the Moon, a University that is set to become the premier learning institution in the region. I am glad that you have taken time to check on the MMU website, indeed you will not regret.

Mountains of the Moon University is a community university, a mark that distinguishes it from other private universities.  It is a community university by the fact that it is owned by the community as represented by the leaders of the districts in the Rwenzori region.

More importantly, the courses within the university are in response to the needs arising from the community.  Courses are started and tailored to the needs of the people.  Thus, as a community university, MMU has established partial scholarships in Bachelor of Arts with Education, Bachelor of Science with Education, Horticulture with Management and Entrepreneurship and Floriculture.  Candidates who join these courses and complete them successfully will assist greatly to the improvement of the quality of education in the region and beyond; and at the same time contribute to the economic development of the communities where they come from.

All our students are given the opportunity to do a field attachment in a working environment in view of acquiring experience in their respective areas of study.  In this way, students are not only able to transfer their knowledge of class to the community but even more importantly learn from the experience of the community.  I am confident that a graduate from MMU will indeed be an asset to the community.  If you are a student, MMU is the place to be.  If you are a parent, you will not regret the excellent services your son or daughter will get from us.
