Mountains of the Moon University invites International Students to study at the MMU by offering a Bridging Course which is now enrolling.
Background
A bridging course is a university-preparation course with an academic curriculum that is offered to candidates without an equivalent to A’Levels as a means of preparing for the intellectual challenges of a university education. Successful completion of this course is recognized as a basis of admission to the Ugandan University system.
Role of Bridging Courses in the Admissions Process
For students who have previously attended post-secondary institutions, successful completion of a bridging course is one factor that will be considered when the entire academic record is reviewed at the time of application. International students, whose education system does not match with the requirements/system in Uganda, will have to attend the course. Students from countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Democratic Republic of Congo, who wish to enroll for a degree course at university, have to pass through this program.
Approval of Bridging Course
In order to be considered a basis of admission, the bridging course has to be approved through the normal route for course approval in the Department, Faculty, or non-Faculty based institute offering the course. Approval is granted only to a university-preparation course that meets the requirements set out in the university regulations. The academic committee has to be informed of any decisions regarding the granting of approval of any university-preparation course. In this way, the academic committee monitors the decisions to ensure the consistent application of any policies set out.
