Overview
The MPA and Management program is aimed at those whose ambition is geared towards leading public service management and innovation. This degree design helps the university achieve its goal of blending the quality of a superior program with the flexibility necessary to meet the needs of working adults. It prepares students to serve as managers in the executive arm of local and national government, and increasingly non-governmental organizations (NGO) and nonprofit sectors, by placing a focus on the systematic investigation of executive organization and management. The MPA and Management program combines curricular structure, physical facilities, and real-world fieldwork opportunities to foster the managerial skills needed to meet today's greater demands for accountability and effectiveness from public and nonprofit organizations. Emphasis is placed upon learning those administrative concepts, processes, and techniques that are associated with managing the public's business. The program blends the theoretical with the practical dimensions of administration and encourages a broadened academic and professional perspective. It also provides an understanding of the role of public administration in social and political contexts. The demands of work, family, and other obligations leave little time for traditional graduate studies. For this reason, we have made the MPA and management program more flexible and accessible.
Why choose an MPA and Management?
There is a range of management educational programmes available to choose from for today’s prospective student. Working adults are well aware that career objectives are likely to be improved with advanced education. The MPA and Management program at MMU has been designed to challenge and develop the next generation of leaders in public management and policy.
